The Prickly Thistle Process

A thoughtful, design-driven approach from the first conversation to the final stem.

Every event we take on is approached with intention—from the first conversation to the final stem placed on your wedding day.

Our process is structured, collaborative, and designed to bring your vision to life in a way that feels cohesive, personal, and beautifully executed.

01. CONSULT

We begin with a conversation.

This is where we get to know you—your style, your priorities, your venue, and the overall atmosphere you want your guests to feel.

Whether you come in with a fully formed vision or just a handful of ideas, this is where we start shaping the direction together.

You’ll leave this step with clarity, inspiration, and a sense of what’s possible within your investment.

02. DESIGN BOARD

Where your vision becomes visible.

Following your consult, you’ll receive a custom design board that brings your floral story to life. This includes overall styling direction, color palette, floral textures, and visual concepts tailored specifically to your event.

This is not a template or a catalog—it’s a curated design plan created just for you.

(Your proposal and pricing will follow shortly after, once the full vision is established.)

03. DESIGN CONFIRMATION

Refining and finalizing the details.

As your event approaches, we reconnect 3-5 months prior to review your floral design, confirm details, and ensure everything still aligns with your vision. This phase includes a thoughtful refinement of your plan as needed.

At 3 weeks out, we finalize logistics, counts, and installation details. If your needs change as your guest count goes up or down, we adjust your order accordingly.

From there, your selections are confirmed, and we move into sourcing and production with intention and care.

04. FLORAL PROCESS & CREATION

Where the magic happens.

Your flowers are sourced as close to your event as possible to ensure freshness and quality.

Once they arrive, they are carefully processed, hydrated, and prepared in our studio before design begins.

Each arrangement is created by hand, guided by your design plan and the natural movement of the blooms themselves.

This is where artistry meets experience—balancing intention with the organic beauty of seasonal florals.

05. DELIVERY, SETUP & TRANSITION

Bringing it all together.

On your wedding day, our team delivers and installs each element with care and precision, ensuring every detail is placed exactly as intended.

If your design includes repurposing (such as ceremony florals transitioning into your reception), we handle those transitions seamlessly so your flowers continue to shine throughout the celebration.
